LAS VEGAS – Nevada

Las Vegas, a grand metropolis of the gambling world is a mirage in the desert and with hotel casinos that are crowded day and night. There’s the Luxor Hotel that was built at a cost of 400 million dollars and contains 2526 rooms and an atrium that can accommodate nine jumbo jets. This is in stark contrast to the Excalibur Hotel that evokes King Arthur and his Round Table. Even the New York skyline is on full view and features Greenwich Village, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty and a screeching roller coaster ride above the residential quarters of New York! The exclusive Romanesque Caesar’s Palace contains some of the finest and most elegant shops in the United States that epitomize the height of luxury, whereas the Mirage Hotel is set in a rocky landscape with waterfalls and lagoons and after sunset huge volcanoes erupt with a great rumbling and spew flames 30 metres into the air. No visit to Las Vegas is complete without a helicopter flight, as it gives a full perspective of the fantastic ocean of flashing neon lights below and usually makes for the Stratosphere Tower and circles around it at breathtaking angles. Las Vegas, there’s a lot more to it than this, including Treasure Island and regular battles between pirates and the English fleet. This city is like a huge multi-billion dollar film set where illusion and entertainment know no bounds.

Help… airfare, hotel and food are paid for. Also I will have a couple hundred bucks a day to gamble on. After that, we will be pretty limited. Anyone know any good bars/clubs that arent ultra expensive?? Any ideas are appreciated!

you can get 1/2 price tickets to most of the shows, the day of the show. on the strip, the coke a cola store (it has a huge coke bottle out front) has a place you can buy 1/2 tickets. I believe it opens around 1;30.

Las Vegas budget?

budget airfares
by J. Stephen Conn

Question by turtlebeakreich: Las Vegas budget?
My husband and I are going to Vegas. We have pre-paid for our hotel and airfare and have 1000 for spending. We will be in town for 5 days. We aren’t big spenders and don’t really plan to eat at expensive restaurants. Will this be enough money?

Best answer:

Answer by wrangler124
Yes, my wife and I always count on spending about 100 dollars a day each while we are there. Some times I will not spend my whole 100 and most of the time she does not spend much more then 50, this includes meals and shows. we just see 1 or 2 small shows and eat breakfest at our hotel in the mornings then have a buffet in the afternoon. Make sure you set a daily limit and do not go over it ! especialy for gambling. Well have a great time because there is alot more to do out there then just gamble, you will be busy the whole week. Make sure you visit the piano bar down by the market on the left side of the imperial palace as you are facing it.

Budget/Cheap Eating in Vegas?

Question by Ryan: Budget/Cheap Eating in Vegas?
Going solo for the first time next week. I just need some recommendations for cheap, but decent buffets on the Strip, preferably in the PH area. Also I’d like some suggestions for 1 or 2 really good, higher end dinners that would be appropriate for a solo traveler. As far as buffets go, I have the .77 HR buffet marked down. I need to fill 6 days, but maintain my budget. I have about 1,000-1,500 set aside, and my airfare, hotel, and shows are already paid for. I’m primarily interested in bars (not clubs), restaurants, and casinos (low limit tables), and I don’t plan on doing any shopping other than a few souvenirs. Is this enough realistically? Also, please don’t comment just to say “don’t gamble!” Thanks! Any other suggestions?

well, the best advice i can give you is to keep your eyes peeled and look for signs outside and inside the casinos that advertise specials in their restaurants. you may also check out http://www.vegas.com/restaurant/specials.html which list many specials at various casinos. if you want to try something interesting, there is the buffet of buffets program which allows you to dine at select buffets at harrahs, paris, planet hollywood, casars palace, rio imperial palace and flamingo as many times as you like in a 24 hour period for 45 with a total rewards card which is free to get. http://www.harrahs.com/buffets/faq.html
if your in the planet hollywood area, you can head north a bit to bills gamblin hall, osheas, flamingo, imperial palce, harrahs and casino royal. these are all low roller havens and decent places for singles to mingle. lots of bars and a party atmosphere.

Question by Mike: Going to Las Vegas but buying a ticket to Denver that makes a plane change in Las Vegas? Any risks?
I’m taking my wife to Las Vegas for her 30th birthday but like most people, we are on a tight budget. Airfares are extremely high during her birthday weekend (during July). However, if we book to Denver with a plane change in Vegas, we will save 0 one way on the outbound. I would only be booking my outbound flight like this as I know it wouldn’t work on the return b/c once I missed the flight in Denver the rest of the itinerary would be void. I would make a separate reservation for a one way return flight from Vegas directly home.

Just wondering if there are any risks, ie like the plane for some reason not making the stop in Vegas etc. I’m figuring it has to stop b/c other travelers will have to get off for other connecting flts etc but I just want to make sure.

Thanks so much for your help!!!

2012 Shaklee Global Conference: Las Vegas

What’s got lots of great (and inexpensive) hotel rooms, really good (and affordable) food, really convenient (and cheap) airfare, and lots of room for the Shaklee family to spread out and have a great convention? If you looked at the title, you already know. But watch anyway.

Question by Brando: A list of all flights from Nashville to Vegas over time period?
I’m wanting to travel from Nashville to Vegas sometime in May or June on Southwest. I can leave on a Friday or Saturday. Looking at their schedules though, they vary significantly from week to week. I want a non-stop flight that gets me there before 11am. Rather than searching day by day on their website, is there anything that will list out all Nash to Vegas flights over a specific time frame so I know which Fri and Sat’s I can go ahead an eliminate?

Answer by AliDawn
When you put in your dates and everything and the fare page comes up, there are tabs with the dates on them heading the column of fares; just to the right of those date tabs is a link that says ‘Try Our Low Fare Calendar.’ That will give you the current ‘Wanna Get Away’ fares (the lowest fares Southwest offers) for the entire month you’re searching in. For example, I just clicked the one for the month of May and the lowest departure fare is currently the same for every day in May: 4.00.

You probably shouldn’t bother just trying to eliminate the days with the highest airfare anyway because airfare changes all the time. You might check it now and see one price, then check it again and see a much higher or lower price. You need to be solid on your dates first and buy your plane tickets (you’ll usually get the best prices if you buy them at least 4-6 weeks in advance).
